During July and August 2015 I spent 6 weeks travelling around Europe. One of my favorite places I visited was Croatia, my first stop and my favorite city in Croatia was Dubrovnik.
Over the next few weeks I will give you tips of the must sees of Dubrovnik, from the amazing view at the top of the cable cars to the hidden "hole in the wall" bar that is situated on a cliff face.
Dubrovnik is a large coastal city with 16th-century walls encircling their old town, the beauty of the Old Town is like nothing I have ever seen before. It is this reason alone that I would recommend staying in the heart of Old Town when travelling to Dubrovnik.

When you first walk into Old Town the first thing you see is the main street, although this is a street I did not see one single vehicle inside the walls during my stay.
The beauty of the streets is within the sandstone pavements and sandstone buildings, everything is calved out so carefully and with such beauty.

Once you wonder off the main street you soon realise the scale of the town, all the buildings are so close together and accommodation is not in any high-rise hotels or big resorts but in little doorways down narrow alleyways.
The alleyways were filled with bars and restaurants which by nightfall were buzzing with laughter and excitement. The feeling of staying inside Old Town is indescribable, I had never been and still have never been to a place like Old Town Dubrovnik, the warmth and happiness you feel when visiting the town I believe is down to the welcoming nature of the Croatian locals, you feel at home straight away, they instantly share their tips and their town with you.
